American Traffic Solutions and the Hays County School Zone Speed Safety Camera Program

I’m writing to share perspective and data on the school zone safety program. I’m skeptical of this program given the unethical history of ATS. I collected information on ATS and the Hays safety camera program here:

That includes agreements and invoices between Hays county and ATS obtained via a public information request.

I brought this up to DSISD leadership and the #IamDSISD community, posing the question, “Do we want regressive revenue enhancement robots from a corrupt corporation on the front curbs of our schools, @DSISD?”

I learned from the discussion that the safety camera program might be retired after this school year. Can this be confirmed?

Unaccountable ticketing robots do not welcome people to a new school year nor do they address the perennial traffic flow problems at Dripping Springs Elementary School.
